The Fujairah Research Centre aims to protect the wild areas, demonstrate a balanced relationship between people and nature, promote sustainable development, protect fragile ecosystems and conserve endangered species for future generations.
THE FRC WILDLIFE RESEARCH CONTAINS THREE MAJOR AREAS:
The Emirate of Fujairah and UAE are home to many diverse ecosystems and unique Wildlife, including mountains, deserts, coasts, and mangroves, which thrive under harsh natural conditions with their ability to adapt to high temperatures and terrain.
The FRC wildlife research team at Wadi Wurayah developed programs to protect 11 threatened species of mammals and birds, such as the Arabian Tahr and the endangered Egyptian Vulture.

THE OBJECTIVES OF THE WILDLIFE RESEARCH AT THE FRC ARE:
• To provide a long-term scientific data and knowledge base of the local wildlife.
• To carry out research that will contribute to wildlife conservation and protection.
• To carry out exploration and monitoring of local wildlife.
• To study and understand species behavior and ecology of the Emirate of Fujairah wildlife and protect them from threats posed by human activities.
• To conduct research on wildlife biodiversity and population management.
• To carry out integrated wildlife observing to support species conservation.
• To research the evolution of wildlife ecosystems.
• To research the effects of natural and human-induced pressures on the wildlife environment.
• To carry out technology transfer, engage with community members and professionals to promote wildlife conservation.
• To act as a repository of information and specimens on Fujairah wildlife.

• To develop human resources in the area of marine wildlife preservation and protection.
Fujairah Research Center brings together scientific expertise with various active research into one center of excellence. It is a multi-disciplinary, global initiative, to carry out research and development activities with major projects spread across
